Each stage of childhood brings its own joys, challenges and unique experiences. As children grow and develop, periods of stress, change and overwhelm can leave lasting imprints on their nervous system and emotional wellbeing. Academic pressures, social expectations, family dynamics, learning differences, and difficult life experiences can all influence how they feel, behave, learn and connect with the world around them.
With a professional background in child and adolescent health, alongside lived experience supporting children with diverse needs, I bring both clinical knowledge and heartfelt understanding to this work. I know that behind every behavior is a child doing their best, and that with the right support, they have an incredible capacity to heal, grow and thrive.
My intention is to create a calm and supportive space where babies, children, and teenagers feel deeply supported, allowing their nervous system to settle and their innate capacity for healing and resilience to emerge.
Each session begins with an in-depth conversation, allowing time to explore your child’s medical history, developmental journey, family dynamics, and current emotional, behavioral, or physical concerns. This creates an opportunity to gain an understanding of your child’s unique experiences and ensures the session is thoughtfully tailored to their individual needs.
During the balance, gentle muscle reflex testing is used to identify areas of stress and imbalance within the body. Depending on what the body prioritises, a range of holistic techniques and interactive remedies may be incorporated to support the release of unresolved emotional stress and energetic blockages. These may include acupressure, neurovascular and neuro-lymphatic reflexes, meridian balancing, nervous system support, essential oils and many more.
For children under eight years of age, sessions are generally completed through surrogation, where a parent acts an energetic surrogate for their child. Parents often hold a deeper understanding of their child’s experiences, history, and the underlying factors influencing their wellbeing, allowing the balance to access and support deeper layers of healing. Your child is welcome to be present and play, rest, or simply be themselves throughout the session, however they do not need to physically attend. If being in the clinic feels overwhelming or impractical, the balance can be completed through the parent alone, creating a gentle and supportive experience, while still allowing the work to unfold.
As children move into adolescence, privacy and autonomy become an important part of their emotional development. Teenagers are encouraged to attend sessions independently, providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. If a young person feels more comfortable with a parent present, this can easily be accommodated, and the approach will always be guided by what feels safest and most supportive for the individual.
Staying well-hydrated before your kinesiology session is essential for optimal results. Hydration supports clear communication between the brain and body, enhancing the accuracy of muscle testing and the overall effectiveness of the session. When you’re well-hydrated, your body is more prepared to heal, respond, and return to a state of balance.
Yes, kinesiology is a safe, non-invasive therapy suitable for people of all ages, including children and pregnant women. It works with your body’s natural ability to heal and can be used alongside other treatments, including medical care, naturopathy, physical therapy, and more. Since kinesiology focuses on identifying and clearing the root causes of imbalances, it complements many other approaches to health and well-being, supporting your body’s healing process without interfering with other therapies you may be using.
Each session may reveal specific remedies, activities, or insights that your body responds to – and continuing that support at home helps to anchor and amplify the healing process. By engaging in home reinforcement, you child becomes an active participant in their healing, which extends the benefits of each session.
